A message from the Small Animal Committee:
In order to show poultry, the state requires that all birds be
tested for pullorum. This requires all birds mature birds (ducks and
chickens) over 4 months be tested or turkeys would meet the requirement over 6
months of age. Market birds would be exempt from testing based on their
age. However, market birds need their NPIP form (from purchase) for entry
day. The Dane County Small Animal Committee has generously donated the serum
and has established testers available so youth can participate showing birds at
the county fairs. Below (under each testing site) is a list of things you need to do prior to
bringing your birds to show.
There will be no cost for the testing. For any questions, contact MaryEllen Karls at (608) 219-1694.
