Join us for the 3rd Annual Rockstars in the Ring. This livestock show is for youth with an intellectual disability. Up to 10 participants will have the opportunity to experience showing a pig, rabbit, or sheep with two youth exhibitor mentors at this year's Fair. Scroll down for more information. WHO:

Participants - Youth with an intellectual disability between the ages of 8-19 years of age. Each participant will be paired with two youth exhibitor mentors and a pig, rabbit, or sheep.

Mentors - 2024 Dane County Fair registered youth exhibitors able to mentor a youth participant with an intellectual disability between the ages of 8-19 years of age. Two mentors will be paired with each participant and pig, rabbit, or sheep. The pig/rabbit/sheep must be a registered exhibit project at the 2024 Dane County Fair.

SCHEDULE:

11:45 AM Arrive & Check-in at New Holland Pavilion #1 Mezzanine-2nd floor

12:00 PM Mentors and Participants Meet & Greet and Pizza Party Lunch (New Holland Pavilion #1 Mezzanine-2nd floor)

1:00 PM Mentor Session with Mentors, Pigs/Rabbits/Sheep, and Participants

2:00 PM Rockstars in the Ring & Group picture - All participants and mentors (New Holland Pavilion #2 Showring B)

WHERE: Alliant Energy Center – 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI

The show ring, located in the New Holland Pavilion #2 – Showring B, is surrounded by a fence to contain the pigs. The sheep will be led by a halter within the showring with the mentor. The emcee/committee members will assess how the mentors, participants, and pig/sheep work together as a cohesive unit. There are bleachers surrounding the show ring for spectators to view. For those participants showing rabbits with their mentors, there will be a table inside the fenced in area to show their rabbit.

COST: No cost to participate, however must be pre-registered by June 15^th and limited to the first 10 registered Participants (no max number for Mentors). All Participants will receive admission to the Dane County Fair plus one companion, a Rockstars in the Ring T-Shirt, lunch, and a ribbon award. Mentors will receive lunch and a T-shirt as well.

SHOW ATTIRE: Closed toe shoes, long pants, and Rockstars in the Ring T-shirt provided upon arrival at the Fair.
