Dane County Fair Appoints Ziegler as New General Manager

MADISON, WIS. – The Dane County Fair Board of Directors is excited to welcome Danielle Ziegler as the annual event’s new General Manager. In this position, Ziegler will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Dane County Fair, held in Madison, Wisconsin during the third week of July. Ziegler will officially begin her new role on October 1, 2018.

Ziegler brings 18 years of meeting and event planning experience to the organization. She is the founder of Red Dog Resources, LLC, a Wisconsin based event management firm that focuses on agricultural shows and events. A Certified Meeting Professional and Certified Veterinary Technician, Ziegler was previously employed as a Senior Convention Sales Manager at a local convention and visitors bureau. While there, her duties included managing the agriculture and veterinary medicine markets that brought a variety of youth livestock shows to the Madison area.

“The Board is excited that Danielle comes to us with an experience base that includes managing venues within the greater Dane County area, and beyond our state lines,” said Fair Board President, Darwin Lynde. “We look forward to introducing the new ideas that Danielle has gained through her experience coordinating these other events while we work to retain many of the storied traditions of the Dane County Fair. It is an exciting time as we venture forward with Danielle to ensure additional excitement for future fairgoers.”

Along with leading Red Dog Resources, LLC, Ziegler serves on the board of directors for Meeting Professionals International – Wisconsin Chapter as the Vice President of Education, as well as a board member of the Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association. She also continues to work part-time in private practice as a Certified Veterinary Technician at a local veterinary clinic.

Since 1995, the Dane County Fair has been managed by World Dairy Expo staff. While this organization is stepping back from the overall management of the fair, it will retain an involvement with youth entries and exhibits.

“As Danielle steps into her new role, the board wishes to extend its appreciation to WDE for its 23 years of professional leadership. Without this organization’s staff, the Fair would not have positively impacted so many families in our Dane County community,” stated Lynde.

In the heart of Madison, the Dane County Fair is a “Country Fair with City Flair!” Home to free concerts, stunt shows, animals, a carnival and all the best fair foods, the Dane County Fair offers the best of both worlds. With a 168-year history, the Dane County Fair will once again be held at the Alliant Energy Center, July 18-21, 2019.
