The Dane County Fair, Your Ticket to Fun

MADISON, WIS. – Summer is in full swing, and The Dane County Fair has your Ticket to Fun! July 19-23, the Fair will have free nightly concerts, free daily stunt shows by Freestyle Motocross Team FMX, performances from Wild About Monkeys Sponsored by Dane County Credit Union, $3 admission before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday – Friday and daily theme activities at the Alliant Energy Center.

The Fair gets off to a running start with Dog Day of Summer on Wednesday, July 19. Watch highly-trained K-9s showcase their abilities and talents through interactive demonstrations in the Exhibition Hall. Crowd favorites, such as the Flyball Tournament and Freestyle Demonstrations, will return, along with 4-H Demonstrations and the Dane County K-9 Unit. Additionally, Underdog Pet Rescue will join the Fair for the first time, bringing puppies and dogs available for adoption!

Thursday, July 20 is all about Dane County’s bravest, as we celebrate Hometown Hero Day, presented by Conney Safety. The first 250 people through the gates receive a Conney Safety goodie bag and members of the military, police officers, firefighters and first responders receive complimentary admission along with discounts from select vendors around the Fair. Past, present and future heroes are encouraged to visit the resource fair in the Exhibition Hall and everyone is invited to be a hero by donating blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive.

Kids Day at the Fair is on Friday, July 21. Children of all ages can test their agriculture knowledge with Alice in Dairyland, decorate cookies, build crowns and more with Agri-Versity and Kids Day activities in the Exhibition Hall. Outside, they can play games with ESPN Madison, try CrossFit challenges with Farmland CrossFit and meet Maynard G. Mallard, the Madison Mallard’s mascot!

Get ready for an all-day adventure during Ag Day, presented by Heartland Credit Union, on Saturday, July 22. Fair goers can watch tractors roll down Fairgrounds Drive in the Fabulous Farm Babe Tractor Parade or pedal their way to victory in the Kiddie Tractor Pull in the Exhibition Hall. Then, go exploring on the AgVenture Scavenger Hunt around the Fairgrounds and visit the Kiddie Farm in New Holland Pavilion 2.

The Fair wraps up on Sunday, July 23, with Family Fiesta Day. Join us for a non-denominational church service at 9:00 a.m. hosted by Charlie’s Concessions. Be sure to stay for the day-long party at the Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison Stage with live music, contests and traditional Latino dance performances beginning at noon.

Since 1851, the Dane County Fair has been a “Ticket to Fun” as it serves as the gathering place for the community of Dane County. The annual event that features a world-class carnival, free concerts, animals, fair food, youth projects and more will be held July 19-23, 2017 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis.
